Hands-On Advanced Resuscitation Training
Preparing for the National Exam and Strengthening On-Site Response Skills

The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) operated the KALS-Provider (Korean Advanced Life Support) course for 38 graduating students from August 30 to 31, 2025.

This course was designed to help students prepare for the national exam for Level 1 Emergency Medical Technicians and to strengthen their employment competencies.


Participants received theoretical lectures and engaged in a variety of hands-on training, including CPR for cardiac arrest patients, use of automated external defibrillators (AED), drug administration, and advanced airway management, equipping them with practical skills to respond to real emergency situations.


The KALS-Provider course is a specialized resuscitation training program certified by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (KACPR).


The program focuses on developing specialized response capabilities for cardiovascular emergencies, including CPR and defibrillation for cardiac arrest patients, administration of medications and advanced airway procedures for cardiac arrest, and post-cardiac arrest care. It also emphasizes strengthening the connection between pre-hospital and in-hospital stages and is characterized by its practice-oriented approach.


Student Shin Ji-hye, who participated in the training, said, "Through this course, I gained the confidence to respond quickly and accurately to emergencies," and added, "After graduation, I will become a responsible emergency medical technician in the field."


Professor Lee Seulgi of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology stated, "We are strengthening practice-based education so that students can remain calm and respond appropriately in real-life situations," and added, "We will continue to expand educational opportunities to enhance practical skills by collaborating with relevant organizations."


The Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is training professional emergency medical personnel through a variety of field-oriented educational programs and is also contributing to strengthening the local community's medical safety net.
