The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office announced on the 12th that it had invited 15 national merit recipients and their families to the "Presidential Certificate of Merit" award ceremony on the 11th, where it presented the new administration's "Presidential Certificate of Merit."


This award ceremony was held at the Seonggwansik Hall in the Gwangju Government Complex. The government presents the "Presidential Certificate of Merit" to express gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of national merit recipients and to instill pride in the families of veterans.


One bereaved family member who received the certificate said, "Thank you for honoring the memory of the deceased in this way. I feel proud as a family member of a national merit recipient. I hope that the sacrifices of many merit recipients will continue to be remembered and passed on."


Kim Seokki, head of the Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that a culture of honoring and remembering the sacrifices and dedication of national merit recipients and their families can take root in our daily lives, so that they may feel pride."
