On September 12, at the Sejong Government Convention Center, the 37th Sejong Economic Forum was held, where the direction of city administration in connection with the government's five-year national policy plan was shared. More than 150 local business leaders, including members of the Sejong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the event.

The city government shared the five-year national policy plan announced by the central government with businesspeople, explained the direction of municipal administration in line with the national policy, and sought strategies for regional economic and municipal development together.

In particular, the city selected and introduced 11 out of the 123 national policy tasks that are directly related to Sejong City, explaining how these tasks are connected to municipal initiatives to enhance participants' understanding.

The business leaders showed great interest and support for the completion of Sejong as the administrative capital, including the construction of the National Assembly Sejong Building and the Presidential Sejong Office, the expansion of transportation networks such as the Chungcheong Region Metropolitan Express Railway (CTX), and the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) highway to help South Korea become one of the top three AI powerhouses.

Mayor Choi used this meeting to directly introduce key local issues and called for the attention of business leaders. He stated, "Our city is further strengthening its status as a city of Hangeul culture in an era where K-culture leads the world," and added, "We will continue to promote various Hangeul-related events and initiatives, such as the 2027 Hangeul International Biennale, to raise global awareness of Hangeul and Hangeul culture."

He further emphasized, "The relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and its affiliated public institutions must be carefully considered in terms of completing the administrative capital and achieving balanced national development," appealing once again for the support and interest of business leaders. He also announced that the city will continue to strengthen communication with the local industrial sector to help companies seize growth opportunities linked to national policy tasks and to shape the direction of municipal administration together.

Meanwhile, at the forum, Hyungkeun Kang, CEO of HK&Company, delivered a special lecture on the theme of innovative paths to lead new growth in times of crisis, emphasizing the need for new perspectives and insights into the economy.
