A Variety of Exhibitions and Hands-on Programs

The Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 12 that it will host "Koryoin Culture Week," focusing on the history and culture of Koryoin (ethnic Koreans from Central Asia), as part of the 2025 Pyeongtaek World Culture Week. The event will take place from September 26 to October 2 at Dogok Neighborhood Park and the Paengseong International Exchange Center.
The opening ceremony will be held on September 27 at Dogok Neighborhood Park in Poseung-eup, where more than 3,000 Koryoin residents live. The ceremony will feature celebratory performances, including Koryoin YouTuber Ishasha, the Koryoin Choir, and a traditional music performance from Kyrgyzstan.
During the event period, an outdoor exhibition titled "Memories on the Road: The Lives of Koryoin" will be held at Dogok Neighborhood Park, showcasing the migration history and daily life of the Koryoin community.
On the weekend of September 27-28, special experience booths will be set up for families, offering ▲Koryoin traditional wedding and ancestral ritual experiences ▲tasting of Koryoin carrot kimchi and Central Asian traditional foods ▲Central Asian bookmark making ▲Central Asian picture book library, among other activities.
At the Paengseong International Exchange Center, a "Cotton Keyring and Yurt Making" class will be held on September 30, and a "Koryoin Traditional Noodle Making" class will take place on October 1.
