This program, launched in 2023 in collaboration with the Korea Mecenat Association, aims to provide Hanmi employees with opportunities to enjoy culture and the arts in their daily lives, while also helping to reduce workplace stress and promote emotional well-being at each site.
Hanmi Science has previously held this program at various sites, including the Paltan Smart Plant and the Pyeongtaek Bioplant, where it received positive feedback from employees. This year, the program was held for the first time at the R&D Center, with more than 60 researchers, including R&D Center Director Choi Inyoung, participating.
During the performance, the mixed-gender five-member a cappella group "MTM" presented ten diverse pieces, including classical and chanson songs. The event provided researchers, who are usually focused on new drug development, with a rare opportunity for cultural enjoyment and relaxation. In particular, the performance was designed to encourage active participation from the researchers for each song, resulting in enthusiastic cheers and applause.
According to a satisfaction survey conducted among participating researchers after the concert, 95.1% responded that they experienced "healing" through the cultural and artistic program, and the same percentage expressed a desire to participate in such programs in the future.
Lee Junghwa, a researcher at the Hanmi Pharmaceutical R&D Center, said, "While I sometimes feel busy and exhausted when immersed in research, I enjoyed this performance because it made me feel emotionally recharged."
Hanmi Group plans to continue supporting cultural and artistic programs to foster employees' creativity and enhance teamwork. A Hanmi Science representative stated, "Just as the different harmonies in an a cappella performance blend into one, great synergy is created in new drug development when researchers with diverse expertise collaborate. We will continue to develop various programs so that employees can enjoy culture and the arts, unleash their creativity, and promote cooperation and unity among colleagues."
