Yongin City Launches 2nd Administrative Advisory Committee to Enhance Efficiency and Expertise

Active Across Four Sectors: Autonomous Administration, Culture and Sports, Economy and Environment, and Urban Development

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it held the appointment ceremony for the "2nd Administrative Advisory Committee" in the city hall's video conference room on the 11th, aiming to enhance administrative efficiency and expertise.

The second committee consists of a total of 19 members. Over the next two years, until August 6, 2027, the committee members will provide recommendations, suggestions, and proposals across four sectors: autonomous administration, culture and sports, economy and environment, and urban development.


The chairperson is Bang Seongyu, an invited professor at Halla University, who previously served as Director of Public Communication and Director of Culture and Arts Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Chairperson Bang also led the first committee.


Sector-specific members for autonomous administration include: Kang Gihun, professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; Kim Seoyong, professor at Ajou University; Nam Jaegul, professor at Dankook University; Park Yunhwan, professor at Kyonggi University; and Lee Hoeun, professor at Cheongwoon University.


For the culture and sports sector, the appointed members are: Chairperson Bang Seongyu; Kim Yonggi, Chairperson of the Grand Bell Awards Organizing Committee; Noh Gaptaek, professor at Myongji University; Park Jeongbae, professor at Cheongwoon University; Park Jihyun, adjunct professor at Daegu Catholic University; Yoo Chungyeol, former Chief of Gyeonggi Icheon Police Station; Lee Taewon, professor at Myongji University; and Baek Namseop, former Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Yongin University.


For the economy and environment sector, the appointed members are: Kim Sangsoo, professor at Yongin University; and Park Moonsu, principal researcher at Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.


In the urban development sector, the members are: Kim Daeik, emeritus professor at Hankyong National University; Kim Hyunsoo, professor at Dankook University; Son Jeongmin, CEO of Global Future Group; and Jin Jeonghwa, research fellow at PAC Architectural Technology Research Institute.


Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "Thanks to the proactive advice and suggestions from the members of the first Administrative Advisory Committee, we were able to supplement shortcomings and enhance efficiency in the policy-making and implementation process. I will actively accept and reflect the valuable opinions of the committee members to establish sound policies."


The first Administrative Advisory Committee, launched in August 2023, achieved results by carrying out a total of 19 advisory projects, including the activation of the city character "Joayong."
