Sejong Mayor Choi Minho Vows Efforts to Develop and Support Quality Jobs for Seniors

On September 12, the Sejong City government announced that it had held a meeting at the auditorium of the Saerom Community Welfare Center on the 11th, where it exchanged opinions with approximately 135 senior citizens from the Senior Club regarding the direction of city administration and strategies for expanding job opportunities for the elderly.

This meeting was the fifth on-site communication session led by Sejong Mayor Choi Minho, aimed at engaging in open and honest conversations with citizens from all walks of life. On this day, the senior citizens of the Senior Club shared vivid feedback based on their experiences with senior employment programs.

One elderly participant said, "Being able to do meaningful work even as I age gives me vitality in life," and added, "I hope there will be a greater variety of quality jobs available."

Suggestions were also made to introduce a 1,000-won noodle program to support neighbors in need.

Mayor Choi stated, "I promise to develop the ideas you have shared and to provide support so that those of you with the ability to work can do so fully. I completely agree with the need for more quality jobs for the elderly, and I will continue to create more opportunities for communication so we can share good ideas together."
