Four Weeks of Paid Leave Granted Until October 12

LG Energy Solution has decided to grant a special paid leave of one month to employees who were detained by U.S. immigration authorities at the battery factory construction site in Georgia, USA. The company has announced that it will prioritize supporting the mental and physical well-being of those affected, and it is also reported to have begun discussions regarding additional post-care support payments.

According to the battery industry on September 12, LG Energy Solution plans to grant four weeks of paid leave to its returning employees and those of partner companies, effective until October 12. Paid leave refers to time off granted for official reasons determined by the company or the state, and is generally paid. Additional compensation beyond paid leave is still under discussion, and it is reported that support will be provided not only to LG Energy Solution employees but also to partner company staff.
LG Energy Solution stated that details regarding compensation for employees will be released publicly after their return to Korea.
Meanwhile, 316 workers from the battery factory construction site will return to Korea through Gate B of Terminal 2 at Incheon International Airport around 2 PM on this day. They departed from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia, USA, on September 11 (local time), using a Korean Air charter flight arranged by LG Energy Solution. To ensure a smooth return, LG Energy Solution provided business-class-level amenity kits, as well as convenience items such as charging cables and masks. After arrival, the company plans to offer vehicles with drivers to all employees who wish, supporting them throughout the entire process of returning home.
Previously, LG Energy Solution issued an official statement the previous day, saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our employees, partner companies, and their families due to this incident," and added, "We will strengthen our management system to prevent and respond to risks that may arise at overseas business sites."
