Jo Wonhui, Chairman of the Daejeon Metropolitan Council, has been awarded the "Bareuge Gold Medal" in recognition of his contributions to the Bareuge Living Movement, including his dedication to supporting the socially vulnerable and marginalized groups.

On September 11, Chairman Jo received the "Gold Medal" from the Central Council of the Bareuge Living Movement at the "2025 National Bareuge Living Movement Members' Convention." The Gold Medal is the highest honor that can be awarded to an individual by the Central Council of the Bareuge Living Movement.

Chairman Jo was honored with the award for his efforts in establishing institutional foundations for regional activities of the Bareuge Living Movement and for his dedication to supporting the socially vulnerable and marginalized groups, thereby contributing to the implementation of the movement.

Chairman Jo stated, "The Bareuge Living Movement is an important initiative that strengthens community spirit," and added, "I will continue to do my best to further revitalize the Bareuge Living Movement."

Meanwhile, the "Daejeon Metropolitan City Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting the Bareuge Living Movement Organization" was proposed and passed last March during Chairman Jo's tenure.
