Chun Doohwan Tops List for Most Presidential Stamp Issuances, Followed by Moon Jaein
Korea Post has been issuing commemorative stamps for presidential inaugurations since the inauguration of the first president, Syngman Rhee, in 1948. However, a commemorative stamp for the 4th President, Yun Posun, was not issued; instead, a commemorative stamp for the establishment of the new government was released.
The stamp with the highest number of issuances was the Chun Doohwan inauguration commemorative stamp. For his 11th-term inauguration, approximately 7 million stamps were issued, and for the 12th-term, 11 million stamps were issued, which is 4 million more than the previous term.
Next was the 19th President, Moon Jaein, with 9.3 million stamps issued, followed by the 16th President, Roh Moohyun, with 7 million, and the 10th President, Choi Kyuhah, with 6 million. In contrast, only 3 million stamps were issued for the 20th President, Yoon Sukyeol.
