Building a Robust Neighborhood Safety Net
The Changnyeong County Community Security Council’s township and town subcommittees announced on September 11 that they conducted a campaign to identify welfare blind spots and prevent solitary deaths at the regular market day in Yeongsan-myeon on September 10.
On this day, 34 members of the township and town council participated in the campaign, distributing leaflets and promotional materials throughout the market and key residential areas. They urged residents to promptly report any neighbors facing financial hardship or crisis to the Health and Welfare Call Center (129) or the township and town offices. Through these efforts, the council plans to actively identify and support households in crisis who are excluded from assistance because they are unaware of welfare programs or unable to apply for them.

County Governor Sung Nakin stated, "I would like to thank the council members for joining the campaign despite their busy schedules," emphasizing, "Warm concern that does not turn away from the pain of our neighbors is the most powerful way to resolve welfare blind spots and prevent solitary deaths."
Going forward, the county plans to further strengthen public-private cooperation to build a robust neighborhood safety net and expand customized support for households in crisis, taking the lead in achieving a 'Zero Welfare Blind Spots in Changnyeong.'
