Baek Gyeonghun, Minister of Science and ICT, personally inspected the site in connection with the unauthorized small payment hacking incident at KT, and ordered measures to protect affected customers and prevent further damage.

On the 11th, Minister Baek visited the KT branch in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, to check the current response to the incident. He noted that hacking incidents involving telecommunications companies have been occurring in succession recently, and urged KT to actively cooperate with the joint public-private investigation team to determine the cause of the incident.

He also emphasized that KT should implement thorough protection measures, such as exempting affected customers from billing, and mobilize all available resources at the corporate level to prevent any additional damage.

Minister Baek requested that KT not limit its response to temporary measures, but instead make security the top priority in corporate management and practice the normalization of security in daily operations.

He stated, "This security breach is a very serious matter directly linked to public trust in telecommunications services that are part of our daily lives," and added, "As Korea strives to become one of the top three AI powerhouses, never forget that robust security is essential, and do your utmost to restore public trust in telecommunications services."
