Lee Jeongyeon Wins Mixed Doubles Title and Takes Third in Women's Singles
Park Yeeun Finishes Third in Mixed Doubles
The Yangsan City Hall Women's Table Tennis Team has achieved remarkable results on the national stage, further enhancing the status of Yangsan as a sports city and boosting civic pride.
At the "2025 National Cup Business Table Tennis Tournament," held in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province from September 7 to 10, Lee Jeongyeon claimed the mixed doubles championship and finished third in the women's singles, while Park Yeeun secured third place in the mixed doubles. Both athletes successfully reached the podium.
This tournament, where both players from Yangsan City Hall achieved outstanding results, not only demonstrated the team's competitiveness but also served as an opportunity to reinforce the brand value of "Sports City Yangsan" nationwide.
Lee Jeongyeon, teaming up with Jo Jaejun from Sancheong County Office, won the mixed doubles title. They caused a major upset by defeating the previous year's champions in the round of 16 and continued to showcase their distinctive skills in both the quarterfinals and semifinals.

In the finals, they secured a 3-2 victory over Nam Gihong from Bucheon City Hall and Shim Minju from Paju City Hall, earning Lee Jeongyeon her first career championship. She also finished third in the women's singles, demonstrating her ability to excel in multiple events simultaneously.
Park Yeeun, partnering with Oh Minseo from Sancheong County Office in the mixed doubles, advanced to the semifinals and displayed calm and steady play to secure third place. This was her first achievement since joining the team this year, providing a meaningful boost of energy to the squad.
Head Coach Lee Jeongsam stated, "Lee Jeongyeon's first business league championship and Park Yeeun's first podium finish have significantly raised the morale and confidence of not only the individual athletes but the entire Yangsan City Hall team. We will do our utmost to further elevate Yangsan's name at the National Sports Festival as well."
A city official said, "We are extremely proud that our women's table tennis team has achieved such outstanding results at a national tournament. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that our athletes can maintain peak condition and showcase their skills."
With the 106th National Sports Festival scheduled for October, the Yangsan City Hall Women's Table Tennis Team is training intensively, aiming for even greater achievements based on the confidence gained from this tournament.
This accomplishment is expected to be recorded as another meaningful milestone in establishing Yangsan as a "sports-centered city."
