Full-Scale Introduction of NVQ Program Starting Next Year
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on September 10 that two professors from the Hair Beauty Department completed a preparatory training program at Capital City College (C.C.C.) in London, UK, from June 25 to July 8, in advance of operating the 'NVQ Hairdressing Level 3' course.

This training was promoted as part of the 2025 College Innovation Support Project.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology had previously signed a business agreement with C.C.C. and discussed concrete plans to jointly operate the UK national qualification course in hairdressing. The faculty held meetings with VTCT, the UK qualification awarding body, to coordinate curriculum design, evaluation standards, and operational procedures.
In particular, Kim Taeyoung, Head of the Hair Beauty Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, already holds the official Assessor qualification recognized by VTCT, making it possible to launch the course immediately starting in the 2026 academic year.
The two institutions have completed curriculum alignment and are preparing for the approval process as a VTCT training center. They have also agreed to formalize annual faculty exchanges and special lectures.
A representative from the International Exchange Office at C.C.C. stated, "Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has previously operated the Edexcel Hairdressing course successfully, so we expect the NVQ course will also be established smoothly."
Starting next year, students enrolled in this course will be registered as students of C.C.C., granted international student status, and officially registered with VTCT to receive training for the UK national qualification. Students with excellent English proficiency will be able to complete a semester in London and, after graduation, may have opportunities to work at local hair salons.
