Over 80 Emerging Designers from Fashion Departments of Five Daejeon Universities Join the Event
With a diamond-shaped runway set up inside the circular plaza of Hanbat Arboretum, a fashion show will be held where visitors can experience the works of both established and emerging local designers on a stage that beautifully blends Daejeon's urban sensibility with nature.
The Daejeon Design Promotion Agency will host the "2025 Daejeon Fashion Collection," the region's leading fashion show and a collaborative event between university students majoring in fashion and established local designers from the Daejeon and Chungcheong area, at Hanbat Arboretum, a renowned Daejeon landmark, at 7 p.m. on the 25th.
This year's "Daejeon Fashion Collection" marks its 14th consecutive year since 2012. The event will feature Daejeon's representative fashion designers, Jung Hoonjong and Kim Yumi, along with designers from the Jungchon Fashion Platform. In addition, more than 80 emerging designers from the fashion departments of five universities-Daejeon University, Mokwon University, Paichai University, Chungnam National University, and Hannam University-will participate.
Until now, the Daejeon Fashion Collection has been an invitation-only event, but starting this year, it has been reimagined as an open fashion and cultural event for the public. Citizens will be offered a unique experience as they watch models confidently walk across the green lawn of Hanbat Arboretum's circular plaza, one of the city's most iconic locations.
The theme of the fashion show is "Daejeon Fashion, The Beginning of Imagination." Spectators will be able to see the works of both established and emerging local designers on a stage where Daejeon's urban sensibility and nature are exquisitely fused, all while viewing the diamond-shaped runway set up inside the circular plaza of Hanbat Arboretum.
Citizens who wish to attend can simply visit the event venue at Hanbat Arboretum at the scheduled time. For safety reasons, seating inside the venue will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lee Changki, President of the Daejeon Design Promotion Agency, stated, "I believe it is highly meaningful that the Daejeon Fashion Collection is now more accessible to citizens, offering them the opportunity to enjoy fashion culture. As this is a special outdoor fashion show, I hope Daejeon citizens will be able to experience the future of Daejeon fashion."
