Possibility of Surpassing 300 Million Cumulative Views
The animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has continued its upward momentum into its 12th week since release, firmly securing its position as the number one content of all time on Netflix.
According to Netflix's official website "Tudum" on September 10, the cumulative view count for "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has reached 291.5 million. After surpassing "Squid Game" Season 1 and "Wednesday" Season 1 at the end of last month to become Netflix's all-time number one, it has added another 25.4 million views. The view count is calculated by dividing total watch hours by the runtime.
Netflix content typically attracts attention for one to four weeks after release, after which view counts gradually decline. However, even though "K-Pop Demon Hunters" was released on June 20, it has remained in the top 10 of the weekly English-language film rankings for 12 consecutive weeks. Its weekly view count continues to stay in the 20 million range.
Netflix compares cumulative view counts over a 91-day period after release to determine the most-watched films and shows. "K-Pop Demon Hunters" still has one more week to add to its view count, making it possible for the film to set a symbolic record as the first ever to reach a cumulative 300 million views.
