Yerimom Soup Tteokbokki Launches First Subscription Service
160 Sign-ups in One Month... Two Packs Delivered Monthly for Six Months
Yerimom Soup Tteokbokki, a brand specializing in soup tteokbokki led by CEO An Jung-sook, has made headlines by becoming the first in the meal kit industry to introduce a subscription service.
Yerimom Soup Tteokbokki announced on September 10 that 160 customers signed up for its second-half subscription service, which was offered throughout July. Under this system, customers receive a total of 12 packs of Yerimom Soup Tteokbokki sets-two packs each month over six months. In addition to wheat rice cakes and Busan fish cakes, the sets also include fish balls, dumplings, hand-torn dough, green onions, and cabbage.
An Jung-sook, a working mother raising an elementary school-aged son and a middle school-aged daughter, said, "The idea started from wondering how convenient it would be to receive tteokbokki regularly, just like subscribing to Netflix." She added, "I feel proud to have expanded the concept of regular meal kit delivery to the tteokbokki market, especially for busy professionals, working mothers, and people living alone." The second round of membership recruitment for customers who will receive deliveries in the first half of next year is scheduled to take place around November.
