On September 10, Ansan City announced that starting next month, the second Wednesday of every month will be designated as "Oh! Happy Camping Day," during which the Ansan Hwarang Auto Camping Site will be open to local daycare centers, children's facilities, kindergartens, and facilities for children with disabilities.
The city explained that the Ansan Hwarang Auto Camping Site was selected as the venue because it is equipped with 85 major facilities, including auto camping sites, semi-glamping, glamping, and caravans, as well as a variety of amenities such as playgrounds, water play areas, and ziplines, providing an environment where children can play freely.
The eligible applicants include a total of 524 local daycare centers, children's facilities, kindergartens, and facilities for children with disabilities. Institutions wishing to use the site must apply to the relevant departments-Women and Childcare, Child Rights, Education and Youth, or Welfare for the Disabled-by the 15th of the previous month.
The facility will be available for 26 hours, from 9 a.m. on the designated opening day until 11 a.m. the following day. Fees will be charged in accordance with the "Ansan City Auto Camping Site Management and Operation Ordinance." Selected institutions may use the site up to four times per year. However, only children and related personnel such as supervisors, teachers, and guardians from the institution are permitted to use the facility.
Lee Min-geun, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "This initiative is intended to provide children, who previously had fewer opportunities to use the facility, with access. We will continue to create an environment where children can play and rest to their hearts' content, thereby increasing their happiness index."
