Experience Regional Stay-Type Tourism Programs
The Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Sunghyun, hereafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on September 10 that, in celebration of the '2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years,' the 'Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa),' a joint promotional marketing project conducted with five cities and counties in the Yeongseo inland region, will hold its Goodbye Tour in Hoengseong, Pyeongchang, and Wonju from September 16 to 17, thanks to the enthusiastic response from participants.
This 'Five Steps Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa)' will be held over two days, from September 16 to 17, as a regional tourism product that can only be experienced in the inland areas of Hoengseong, Pyeongchang, and Wonju. The event aims to continue the excitement of the Five Steps culinary and healing stay-type festival held throughout the year, and to further develop weekday stay-type tourism programs into marketable tourism products, ultimately discovering a successful model for stay-type tourism.
Participants of this encore Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa) tour will begin with the exhilarating Hoengseong Luge experience, followed by a tasting session at the Kooksoondang Brewery's Aroma Road. In Pyeongchang, they will take part in the 'Moonlight Romantic Road' tour at the Lee Hyoseok Literature Museum, creating cherished memories amidst blooming buckwheat fields.
On the second day, the group will move to Wonju, where they will ride the Sogeumsan Grand Valley Cable Car, enjoy the breathtaking scenery, and conclude the Five Steps Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa) Goodbye Tour.
The 'Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa),' jointly organized by Five Steps and the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, has discovered more than 10 stay-type tourism programs across the participating cities and counties, including the Goodbye Tour, demonstrating the potential for development into a regional stay-type tourism product.
Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "In celebration of the '2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years,' we will offer a unique stay experience only possible in Gangwon, the K-Tourism Capital, through the 'Five Senses Potato Festival (Festa),' which blends gourmet food and healing."
