"Great Library's Cause of Death Was Cerebral Hemorrhage... Hoping Misunderstandings Do Not Cause Further Pain"

Yoomdaeng: "There was no division of assets during the divorce"
"Listed as chief mourner at the request of Great Library's younger sister"

The funeral for Daedoseogwan (real name Na Donghyun, age 47), a first-generation and well-known YouTuber who passed away on September 6, was solemnly held on September 9. His ex-wife, YouTuber Yoomdaeng (real name Lee Chaewon), shared her feelings about his passing. The funeral took place at 8 a.m. at Konkuk University Hospital Funeral Hall in Hwayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The burial site is Yaksasa Temple in Incheon. Yoomdaeng, the ex-wife, was listed as the chief mourner and stayed at the funeral home with their son, greeting visitors throughout the ceremony.

That night, Yoomdaeng wrote on her YouTube channel's community board, "There are stories spreading that are not true about myself, Daedoseogwan, and my child. I want to clarify a few things so that further misunderstandings do not cause more pain."

Regarding the cause of Daedoseogwan's death, Yoomdaeng stated, "An autopsy was performed to rule out any suspicions, and it was ultimately confirmed that the cause was a cerebral hemorrhage. When I arrived, Daedoseogwan looked as if he was simply sleeping, just as I had seen him many times before, and he had passed away peacefully."

Yoomdaeng added, "Recently, he mentioned that his blood pressure was a bit high and that he should start taking medication, but he never had headaches, and his health checkup two years ago showed no particular abnormalities, so he did not undergo an MRA scan and the (cerebral artery) aneurysm was not detected." She continued, "One thing I want to make absolutely clear is that Daedoseogwan's father passed away from liver cirrhosis, not myocardial infarction. The rumors about hereditary heart disease in Daedoseogwan's family are completely untrue."

"The claim that I was chief mourner for money is deeply hurtful"

Yoomdaeng also addressed the malicious comments and rumors directed at her. She explained, "When we got married, it was Daedoseogwan's first marriage and my second, and I had a son. I prepared the newlywed home, and we split living expenses equally. When we divorced, there was no division of assets; we simply kept what each of us had earned."

She continued, "I was listed as chief mourner at the request of Daedoseogwan's younger sister. The claim that I did it for money is extremely painful. After all the years we spent together, is it so wrong to accompany him on his final journey? I hope people don't view this so coldly." She added, "I will not delete the negative comments left on my old videos. If, over time, you come to delete them yourselves when your hearts have changed, I believe that alone will have great meaning."

In closing, Yoomdaeng said, "This farewell was so sudden that I still can't believe it. Daedoseogwan spent his time with loving family, good friends, and fans, and left this world happier than anyone. Please, do not worry too much, and let us cherish only the good memories for a long time."

With 1.44 million subscribers, Daedoseogwan was a pioneer in internet broadcasting. He began streaming on 'SayClub' in 2002 and gained popularity by posting gaming videos on platforms such as AfreecaTV and Twitch. Daedoseogwan married Yoomdaeng in 2015. As a popular YouTuber couple, they continued to be active after their marriage. In 2020, Yoomdaeng revealed that she had a son from a previous marriage, which drew public attention. In 2023, they announced their amicable divorce, stating, "We are not separating due to any bad circumstances. We have decided to remain friends."
