Hoengseong County in Gangwon Province announced on September 9 that it is holding a prize draw event for participants in the Hometown Love Donation Program from September 1 to September 20, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
During the event period, anyone who donates at least 100,000 won to Hoengseong County through the Hometown Love e-Eum online site, bank apps, or any NongHyup Bank branch nationwide will be automatically entered into the draw without any separate application process.
A total of 200 winners will be selected by lottery. Each winner will receive one 4kg bag of "Eosajinmi New Rice," Hoengseong County's signature rice brand, which won the "2025 Paldo NongHyup Rice National Brand Award." Winners will be individually notified on September 22, after which the prizes and notification messages will be sent out sequentially.
Jo Jeongok, head of the county's Tax and Accounting Division, said, "We organized this event to promote the region's agricultural and specialty products through the Hometown Love Donation Program and to express our gratitude to donors. We hope everyone will enjoy a bountiful Chuseok holiday with premium Hoengseong new rice."
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to local governments other than the one listed on their resident registration. Donors receive tax deductions and can also receive return gifts worth up to 30% of their donation.
