Over 300 Elementary and Young Children Participate
Hands-On Economic Education Program a Success
MG Community Credit Cooperative announced on September 8 that it successfully held the "2025 Children's Financial Education" program at the MG Community Credit Cooperative History Museum in Sancheong County, Gyeongnam Province, from June until September 5.
This educational program was conducted a total of 11 times for elementary school students and young children in the Sancheong and Jinju regions. To make finance and economics easy and enjoyable for children, the program combined lessons from professional instructors with hands-on activities.
◆ Learning Finance Through Play in Everyday Life
The elementary school curriculum focused on practical topics such as payment methods and the concept of rational consumption, all directly applicable to daily life. For young children, the program explained the origins of money and methods of safekeeping in an accessible way, and included a piggy bank-making activity so that children could experience the value of saving firsthand.
This program was a collaborative effort involving the Sancheong Office of Education, Sancheong County Office, Jinju City Hall, Jinju Association of Daycare Centers, and Sancheong Kindergarten. A total of over 300 participants took part, including 102 students from three elementary schools in Sancheong and 206 children from 10 kindergartens and daycare centers.
◆ "Nurturing Future Financial Talent, Continuous Expansion"
A representative from MG Community Credit Cooperative stated, "We hope this program will help children develop a friendly understanding of finance and economics and spark their interest." The representative added, "We will continue to expand various economic and financial education programs in line with the founding purpose of the MG Community Credit Cooperative History Museum."
Through this program, MG Community Credit Cooperative is being recognized for strengthening its role as a financial education platform for future generations, going beyond the traditional scope of a financial institution.
This initiative highlighted the educational role of MG Community Credit Cooperative as a contribution to the local community, emphasizing the significance of financial institutions taking the lead in children's education and nurturing future talent.
