Two middle schools in Busan experienced bomb threat incidents.
Police were urgently dispatched after threatening faxes claiming that bombs had been planted were received at middle schools in Buk-gu and Suyeong-gu, Busan. Fortunately, no explosives were found.
The Bukbu Police Station in Busan announced that they had received a bomb threat report regarding Middle School A in Buk-gu at approximately 10:13 a.m. on September 8.
Police deployed an initial response team and over 30 personnel, evacuating more than 560 students and staff members, and searched both inside and outside the school. No suspicious items were found during the search, and students returned to their classrooms at around 11:35 a.m.
At the same time, at 10:17 a.m., a fax with a similar bomb threat was received at Middle School B in Suyeong-gu.
The Suyeong Police Station also dispatched more than 30 personnel to search the school premises, but no hazardous items were found. The search concluded at approximately 11:10 a.m.
Police are currently tracking the origin of the threatening faxes and investigating the motive behind the false reports.
