Applications Accepted Until September 29
Project to Run from 2026 to 2028
Jeonbuk Province announced on September 8 that it will publicly recruit an operator for the Regional Environmental Education Center in order to establish a systematic foundation for environmental education.
The application period runs until September 29, and the institution ultimately selected will carry out the project for three years, from next year through 2028.
The Regional Environmental Education Center is responsible for enhancing the environmental well-being of local residents by developing and operating environmental education programs, nurturing professional personnel, and building networks among institutions and organizations. As the current designation period expires at the end of December this year, the province plans to select a new operating institution through this recruitment process.
Eligible applicants include: ▲ institutions affiliated with the national or local government that include environmental education in their founding purpose; ▲ corporations established by the national or local government for environmental education projects; and ▲ nonprofit corporations or organizations related to environmental education established under the Civil Act or the Act on Support for Nonprofit Private Organizations. In addition, applicants must have lecture rooms and practice facilities capable of providing regular education, an operations office, and professional staff specializing in environmental education.
To apply, applicants must prepare and submit the required documents-including a business plan, a status report on educational facilities, and a copy of the corporate establishment permit-to the Carbon Neutral Policy Division of Jeonbuk Provincial Government. The province will conduct a comprehensive review, evaluating whether the basic requirements are met, the specificity and appropriateness of the business plan, the operational system, and the efficiency of budget allocation, before finalizing the project operator. For further details, applicants can check the notices section on the provincial government website or contact the Carbon Neutral Policy Division directly.
Han Soonok, Director of the Carbon Neutral Policy Division, stated, "We will select an institution with professional expertise in environmental education to provide residents with higher quality educational opportunities," adding, "We will do our best to improve environmental well-being by establishing a systematic educational foundation."
