Upcycling Pouches Made from Discarded Work Uniforms
Sampyo Group Promotes Resource Circulation and Social Value through Employee Participation
On September 8, Sampyo Group announced that it had launched a resource circulation campaign to mark Resource Circulation Day (September 6), producing upcycling pouches using discarded work uniforms collected from all business sites across its affiliates.
Sampyo Group collaborated with Eco Party Mearry, Korea's first upcycling brand, to transform old work uniforms into pouches. The production of these upcycling pouches was planned not only to simply recycle discarded uniforms, but also to pursue both environmental protection and the realization of social value.
The upcycling pouches that have been produced will be distributed to employees who participated in the campaign. They will also be used in future employee engagement events to further spread eco-friendly values within the company.
Yoo Yongjae, Executive Director of Sampyo Group's Social Contribution Team, said, "This campaign was a great opportunity for employees to directly experience the value of resource circulation," adding, "We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities to realize social value while contributing to the environment."
Meanwhile, in July, Sampyo Group conducted a donation drive at its headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, as well as at business sites in Samcheok, Pohang, and other locations nationwide, collecting unused clothing, household goods, and small appliances from employees. Approximately 500 items were donated to the Beautiful Store Foundation through this effort.
