"Maybe Happy Ending" is set in the near future and tells the story of "Oliver" and "Claire," robots called "Helperbots" created to assist humans. Oliver and Claire were once loved by their human owners, but now appear as Helperbots who have been abandoned after being considered obsolete.

Since its premiere in 2016, "Maybe Happy Ending" has enjoyed steady popularity, completing five seasons of performances through last year. The musical has been recognized for its artistic merit, winning six awards at the 2nd Korea Musical Awards, four awards at the 6th Yegreen Musical Awards, and the Best New Actress award at the 5th Korea Musical Awards.

Last year, the show made a splash by debuting on Broadway, the heart of the global theater scene. At the 78th Tony Awards in June this year, it won six awards, including Best Musical, attracting worldwide attention. In addition to the Tony Awards, it also won six awards at the 69th Drama Desk Awards, two awards at the 91st Drama League Awards, four awards at the 2025 Outer Critics Circle Awards, and the Best Play award at the 89th New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards, making it one of the most talked-about productions worldwide this year.

The scale of the theater will increase for this 10th anniversary performance. While "Maybe Happy Ending" was performed in a 1,000-seat theater on Broadway, it has been staged in small theaters with 300 to 350 seats in Korea since its premiere. The Doosan Art Center YeonGang Hall, where the 10th anniversary performance will be held, has 550 seats.

Director Son Jieun said, "With the change in space, we expect to be able to create Oliver and Claire's world more concretely," adding, "We are working to evoke empathy and emotion from the audience through careful selection and focus."

The 10th anniversary performance of "Maybe Happy Ending" will open on October 30 and run until January 25 next year.
