"True Real Black"... Samsung's 2025 OLED TV Earns Global Certification from Germany's VDE

Excellence of Glare-Free Technology Proven
Samsung: "Industry-Leading Black Level"
Delivers Black Luminance Even in Dark Settings

Samsung Electronics' 2025 OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) TV has received the 'Real Black' certification from VDE, a German testing and certification institution.

On September 8, Samsung Electronics stated, "This certification once again recognizes the excellence of the 'Glare-Free' technology unique to Samsung OLED TV," adding, "It means that we have created a true 'Real Black' viewing environment through Glare-Free technology."

Glare-Free is a technology that delivers vivid images without worrying about light reflection, even in bright daylight or under lighting. The 2025 Samsung OLED TV is equipped with Glare-Free 2.0 technology, enabling even more advanced control of light reflection.

This VDE Real Black certification involved three tests: the level of viewing disturbance caused by lighting reflections while watching the screen, the gloss level of the TV screen surface with Glare-Free applied, and the standard for black level performance.

Samsung explained that its OLED TV met all criteria, proving that its black level is the best in the industry. The Samsung OLED TV delivers vivid images without light reflection in bright environments, and achieves black luminance below 0.005 nits in dark settings, earning the evaluation of offering 'Real Black' that is close to perfect black.

The 2025 Samsung OLED TV is the first in the industry to receive AMD's 'FreeSync Premium Pro' certification. Recently, it also received NVIDIA's 'G-Sync Compatible' certification.

Seol Hoon, Head of Samsung Electronics Germany CE Division, stated, "By obtaining the Real Black certification, we are now able to provide users with an even more vivid and immersive viewing experience."

Ansgar Hins, Chairman and CEO of VDE, explained, "VDE's 'Real Black' certification is only awarded to displays that achieve outstanding results in the most rigorous evaluations," adding, "Samsung OLED TV demonstrates consistent image quality excellence in real user environments, with the ability to deliver rich and accurate blacks in any setting, from dark home theaters to bright living rooms."
