Nuri Bom and Youth Culture Center Joint Team
Win Both Grand Prize and Excellence Award
Youth from Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, have raised the profile of their region by achieving outstanding results on the province’s leading youth policy stage.
The Youth Steering Committee “Nuri Bom” of the Andong Youth Training Center, operated by the Andong City Facilities Management Corporation, as well as the Youth Participation Committee and Youth Steering Committee of the Andong Youth Culture Center, each won the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award at the finals of the “2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Policy Proposal Competition” held at the Andong Youth Training Center on August 30.
◆ Creative Proposals, High Feasibility Recognized
Hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Activity Promotion Center, this competition, now in its 11th year, aims to discover youth policy ideas and reflect them in provincial governance. A total of 30 youth participation organizations from 18 cities and counties in the province competed fiercely.
The “Nuri Bom” committee of the Andong Youth Training Center presented a “Mental Health Recovery and Emotional Support Policy for Youth,” suggesting ways to reduce negative perceptions of counseling and promote a culture of emotional management in daily life. The proposal resonated strongly with the judges.
The joint team from the Andong Youth Culture Center received high marks for feasibility by proposing the “Youth Local Pass” policy, which offers youth discounts at shops in the local youth mall and encourages direct youth participation in promotional activities to revitalize the local economy.
◆ “We Hope Our Policy Becomes a Seed for Community Change”
The participating youth said, “We are proud that the policies we proposed can actually lead to changes in our community,” adding, “This experience will have a positive impact on our future paths and lives.”
A youth leader emphasized, “This is an opportunity for youth to become the main agents of change for the future,” and stressed, “Continued attention and support are needed so that youth voices can be reflected throughout the local community.”
◆ Achievements Expand to the National Stage
Notably, “Nuri Bom” also won the Excellence Award at the “2025 Outstanding Youth Steering Committee Selection” organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Youth Facility Association on August 27, further proving the capabilities of Andong youth on the national stage. These consecutive achievements are seen as opening a new chapter for youth policy participation in Andong.
