Daon H&S Recognized for Pioneering AI-Based Flood Prediction
Expanding from Seoul to the Global Smart City Market
Choi Jungmun, CEO of Daon H&S (hereafter referred to as Daon H&S), a leader in smart city safety technology, received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups at the "2025 SME Technology Innovation Expo." The award ceremony was held on September 7 at the Jeju Booyoung Hotel Resort.

This award recognizes Daon H&S for driving innovation in domestic disaster safety technology by developing "Chimsujezero," an AI-based flood prevention and prediction system that integrates urban, public, and citizen data.
◆ "AI Chimsujezero" Protecting Urban Safety
"Chimsujezero" is a next-generation solution that predicts and responds to flooding in advance by integrating and analyzing data from the Korea Meteorological Administration API, CCTV footage, IoT sensors, and citizen reports in real time. Unlike conventional river-centered prediction methods, it builds a GPS-based storm drain map, enabling detailed monitoring of urban alleyways and drainage systems.
The system is already in operation in Nowon-gu and Yongsan-gu in Seoul. In particular, Nowon-gu adopted a QR code-based citizen participation reporting system, achieving "zero" flood damage.
◆ Becoming a Leading Smart City Company in Just Five Years
Choi Jungmun, who founded the company in 2020, has grown it into a promising smart city enterprise in just five years.
Daon H&S has proven its technological capabilities by consecutively winning government projects such as the SME Technology Innovation Development R&D, Startup Growth Technology Development Project, and AI Voucher Project. This year, the company is expanding its business to Dobong-gu, Jungnang-gu, and Gangnam-gu in Seoul. It is also working to introduce its solutions to over 20 local governments nationwide, including Jeonju and Sejong.
◆ Simultaneous Entry into Public Procurement, Private Markets, and the Global Stage
Daon H&S is accelerating its entry into the public sector by registering as an innovative procurement product, and from 2026, it plans to expand into the private market, targeting industrial complexes and large buildings.
By offering both on-premise and SaaS (Software as a Service) models, the company is diversifying its business and accelerating its entry into the global smart city market, starting with Asia and expanding to North America and Europe.

Choi Jungmun emphasized, "Our mission is to protect urban safety and safeguard citizens' lives through technological innovation," adding, "We will actively utilize AI and IoT technology to contribute to the realization of sustainable smart cities."
Currently, Daon H&S holds four patents, three ISO certifications, and an INNOBIZ Grade A certification. Centered around its corporate research institute, the company continues to invest in research and development, further strengthening its technological competitiveness.
