Passed Away Due to Complications from Chronic Illness
Jung Guyong, Chairman of Inzi Group and the Korea Listed Companies Association, passed away on September 6 due to complications from a chronic illness. He was 80 years old.
After graduating from Okcheon Commercial High School in North Chungcheong Province, Jung began his career as an accounting staff member at Hyundai Motor Company. He continued to work in the automotive industry, including at Asia Motors, and in 1978, he founded Gonghwa Metal Industry, which is now known as Inzi Controls.
This factory, which produced automobile belt components and other parts, became the foundation for Inzi Controls. The company continued to grow steadily and, as of last year, recorded sales of 435.8 billion won.
Throughout his career, Jung served as Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises, and Vice Chairman of the Korea Listed Companies Association. Since 2014, he was re-elected as Chairman of the Korea Listed Companies Association four times, representing the voices of domestic listed companies.
The funeral hall has been set up at the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Funeral Home. The funeral will be held as a family ceremony, and the burial is scheduled for September 9.
