Yangju City to Hold Labor Training and Demand Survey for Farms Hiring Foreign Seasonal Workers Next Year

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct labor training and a demand survey in September and October for farms wishing to hire foreign seasonal workers in 2026.

According to the city on September 7, the labor training will be held at 2 p.m. on September 22, and the demand survey will take place at 2 p.m. on October 17, both at the Yangju Agricultural Technology Center. Farms wishing to hire foreign seasonal workers in 2026 must attend both sessions.

This training will feature a professional labor attorney, fire department officials, and relevant public officials. The program will cover employers' obligations and compliance regarding wages and industrial accident insurance, key points in worker management and education on language and cultural understanding, as well as safety checks of worker accommodations and ways to improve living conditions.

During the demand survey, the city will assess the required workforce for each farm to ensure accurate allocation and efficient operation.

The city expects that this process will enhance farms' capacity to manage workers and help prevent issues such as wage arrears and worker turnover in advance, thereby creating a stable employment environment.

Jung Hwakyeong, Director of Agricultural Policy, stated, "Labor training and the demand survey are essential steps for the stable operation of the seasonal worker system," adding, "We will continue to create a working environment where both farms and workers can thrive together."

Meanwhile, both existing and new farms wishing to hire foreign seasonal workers must participate in both sessions to be eligible for employment in 2026.
