Train operations on the Iksan to Jeonju section of the Jeolla Line, which had been suspended due to heavy rainfall, resumed at 10:00 a.m. on September 7.

KORAIL announced on the same day that service had restarted after emergency restoration work and safety inspections were completed on the Iksan to Jeonju section, which had suffered flood damage. Due to the heavy rain, five regular trains were suspended, and four KTX trains were replaced with bus connections.

KORAIL stated, "To ensure safety, trains will operate at reduced speeds, so some services may be delayed," and urged passengers to check real-time train status on the 'KORAIL Talk' mobile app and the official website before traveling.

Earlier that morning, heavy rain in the Jeonbuk region led to a complete suspension of train service on the affected section. At around 6:25 a.m., KORAIL sent a safety alert message stating, "Train operations on the Jeolla Line (Iksan to Jeonju) are suspended due to track flooding. Please use alternative means of transportation." At that time, the Yongsan to Iksan section was operating normally, but the tracks between Dongsan Station and Jeonju Station were submerged.
