"Governor and Staff Have Their First Real Conversation"

A New Wave of Organizational Culture
Brought by Governor Park Hyunguk's
Bonghwa Talk Concert

On September 3, Bonghwa County in North Gyeongsang Province held the "Bonghwa Institution Head Talk Concert - Governor Edition" in the county office's main conference room, with over 150 public officials in attendance.

"Governor and Staff Have Their First Real Conversation" Park Hyunguk, the governor of Bonghwa County, is talking about the county office philosophy at the talk concert.

This event broke away from the traditional one-way policy delivery format and instead adopted a new approach, allowing the governor and staff to freely exchange opinions and communicate openly.

◆ A Scene Filled with Laughter and Empathy

The conversation was based on questions that staff members had anonymously submitted in advance. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, from practical issues such as the work environment, organizational culture, and work-life balance, to the governor's personal daily life. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and empathy.

Park Hyunguk, the governor, gave honest and flexible answers to questions such as "What is the direction for public officials in utilizing AI?" and "How far can casual dress be allowed?" Staff members responded enthusiastically, saying, "This is the first time we've had an event like this," and "Time just flew by."

◆ "Creating a Warm Organizational Culture"

Governor Park Hyunguk emphasized, "Today's conversation has brought me and the staff closer together," adding, "Going forward, I will continue to foster a warm organizational culture based on empathy and trust through genuine communication."

◆ A Series of Communication Opportunities

The "Bonghwa Institution Head Talk Concert" is planned as a three-part series. Following the first session with the governor, the heads of the Bonghwa Fire Station and the Bonghwa Office of Education will each participate in turn to communicate directly with staff members.

Through this initiative, Bonghwa County aims to broaden cooperation and mutual understanding among related institutions and lay the foundation for providing better administrative services to its residents.

This talk concert, which broke the conventional practice of policy-focused communication in local public service by enabling the governor and staff to share their concerns through "human conversations," stands out as an experimental attempt that goes beyond a simple event. Attention is now focused on whether Bonghwa County's efforts will serve as a new model for organizational culture innovation and regional administration.
