Approximately 3,000 participants, including members and families of successor farmers and farm managers from 18 cities and counties across the province, attended the event. The conference served as an opportunity to share the vision of "Turning Crisis into Opportunity, Successor Farmers and Farm Managers Leading the Future of Agriculture."
At the opening ceremony on September 2, major figures such as Chuncheon Mayor Yook Donghan, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Kang Hyungseok, President of the Central Association of Korean Successor Farmers and Farm Managers Choi Heungsik, Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Kim Jintae, and Chairman of the Gangwon Provincial Council Kim Siseong attended to encourage the agricultural community.
During the event, 71 farmers were recognized for their contributions and received awards.
Lee Woongjae, President of the Provincial Association, stated, "Although agriculture faces crises such as plummeting prices, labor shortages, and abnormal weather, it plays a vital role in this era of transformation in food security and technological change. We will do our utmost to protect the rights and interests of farmers and ensure that spring always blossoms in rural areas."
Shin Sungho, President of the Chuncheon City Association, said, "I hope that this provincial conference, held for the first time in Chuncheon, will serve as an opportunity to enhance the pride of successor farmers and farm managers who are opening the future of rural communities. I also hope everyone will share in Chuncheon's warm hospitality and create cherished memories that will last a long time."
During the event, various programs were held, including special lectures on agriculture, agricultural product auctions, recreational sports events, singing contests, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and a farmers' market, creating a space for interaction between urban residents and farmers. In particular, family-oriented programs such as children's musicals and a potato treasure hunt received enthusiastic responses.
On the final day of the conference, September 4, participants took part in self-guided tours of major tourist attractions in Chuncheon, organized by each city and county.
A Chuncheon City official stated, "Through this conference, the passion and solidarity of the agricultural community have once again been demonstrated. Chuncheon City will continue to provide support for the development of agriculture and rural areas, and will stand with successor farmers and farm managers as they become leaders of future agriculture."
