Celebrating its 17th year, the festival has expanded its screening venues throughout Gyeonggi Province to reach a broader audience. In Paju, a variety of programs will take place, including the "DMZ Docu Road" tour of DMZ border areas such as the Third Tunnel and Dora Observatory, special screenings of documentary animations, and "Conversations with Directors."

Over the course of seven days, the festival will showcase 143 documentaries submitted from 50 countries. Notably, this year's opening ceremony will feature citizen participation events on a first-come, first-served basis, such as the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola experience and special screenings at Gallery Greaves, adding to the festive atmosphere.

This year's opening film is "All the People Against Putin," directed by David Borenstein and Pavel Talanquin. The documentary tells the story of a teacher exposing the reality of propaganda education and agitation in Russian schools during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The opening ceremony is free of charge. For the convenience of attendees, a shuttle bus will run every 20 minutes on the day of the ceremony, connecting Unjeong Jungang Station on the GTX-A line to the venue. Buses departing from Unjeong Jungang Station will operate from 3:00 p.m. to 6:20 p.m., while return buses from the venue will run from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The festival will continue through September 17, with main screenings held at CGV Paju Yadang and Megabox Kintex (Goyang). Tickets are priced at 8,000 won, with a 50% discount available for Gyeonggi Province residents.

Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil stated, "Through this film festival, I hope many citizens will experience documentaries and, through these records, encounter a broader world. We will continue to actively support this stage of cultural engagement and historical reflection."
