Anseong City Launches as Chair City of the 7th National Local Government Council for Social Solidarity Economy

Kim Bora Vows to Promote Active Policy Development
and Exchange Programs

Anseong City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on September 4 that the 7th Local Government Council for Social Solidarity Economy held its inauguration ceremony at the main conference hall of the National Assembly Members' Office Building.

Established in 2013, the council is an administrative consultative body dedicated to realizing social values through activities such as developing social economy policies, promoting youth exchange programs in the social economy sector, and fostering exchanges with international organizations, including the Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF). Currently, 43 local governments are members of the council.


Previously, Anseong City was elected as the chair city at the council’s general meeting in November last year. At the inauguration ceremony, Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, stated, "We will promote policy development and exchange programs so that local governments across the country can cooperate and unite to create even greater synergy."


The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kim Kyungsoo, Chairperson of the Presidential Committee for Balanced National Development, as well as National Assembly members Hwang Myungseon, Kim Youngbae, Yeom Taeyoung, Park Hongbae, Park Junghyun, and Choi Hyukjin, Jorge Valerio, Ambassador of Costa Rica to Korea, and heads of member local governments.
