On September 4, the Samsan Police Station in Incheon announced that it had arrested and referred to the prosecution a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, who is accused of sexually assaulting a female new employee. He faces charges of quasi-rape.
Mr. A is suspected of sexually assaulting Ms. B, a female new employee in her 20s, at an office in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, at around 11 p.m. on August 20. After receiving a report from Ms. B the following day, the police immediately arrested Mr. A and applied for a detention warrant.
According to the investigation, Mr. A allegedly committed the crime after having dinner with Ms. B, taking her to the office when she was intoxicated.
During the police investigation, Mr. A initially denied the charges but later claimed that the sexual encounter was consensual. A police official stated, "Based on circumstantial evidence and the victim's testimony, we determined that the charges were substantiated and referred Mr. A to the prosecution."
