Inviting Experts in Direct Market Planning and Operation
Muan County in South Jeolla Province is conducting the "2025 Local Food Producer Capacity-Building Training" until September 25 to promote local food revitalization and enhance the operation of direct transaction markets.
According to the county on September 4, this training, co-hosted by Muan County and the Muan Local Food Social Cooperative, is attended by about 30 local food producers and farmers who supply products to direct sales stores within the county.
The training is held every Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for four sessions at the meeting room on the second floor of the Muan County Agricultural Technology Center. The main programs include lectures by planners of advanced cases such as the Gwangju Earth Market, Bojagi Market, and Gokseong Ttukbang Market, as well as field trips to advanced direct transaction markets. In particular, the training is designed so that participants can immediately apply what they learn to the "Muan Local Food Direct Transaction Market," which will be held from September to November at Oryong Park in Oryong 2 District, Illo-eup.
The county expects that this training will serve as an opportunity to enhance the planning and operational capabilities of producer farms and to spread the value of healthy local food among residents.
Lee Jaekwang, Head of the Agricultural Policy Division, stated, "This training will not only lay the foundation for producers to independently plan and operate direct transaction markets, but also provide an opportunity to offer safe and healthy food to county residents. We will continue to provide policy support for the revitalization of local food and food self-sufficiency."
