The Gyeongsan City Family Center (Director: Jung Yoohee) announced that it has selected three outstanding participants from the “Byeoljji Night Market Startup Tasting” vocational training program for marriage immigrants, which was held over three weeks starting in July, to operate food stalls at the “Gyeongsan Byeoljji Night Market.”
The operation of these food stalls is part of an initiative to promote mutual prosperity between immigrants and the local community. In accordance with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Gyeongsan Public Market Merchants Association, marriage immigrants are given opportunities similar to actual entrepreneurship, allowing them to apply what they learned during the training and enhance the self-reliance of multicultural families.
The immigrant traditional food stalls have been open since September 3 and will operate for one month, from Wednesday to Sunday each week.
Immigrants are recreating the flavors of their homelands to suit Korean tastes, serving dishes such as Chinese Mapo Tofu and dumplings, Japanese Yaki Udon, and Indian Chicken Biryani and Masala Chai.
This event is expected to be more than just a search for food; it will be a special journey where people can share the cultures and sentiments of various countries.
The Gyeongsan City Family Center provides integrated services and support packages tailored to each stage of settlement for marriage immigrants residing in Gyeongsan. For more information, contact the Gyeongsan City Family Center or visit their website.
