The RHQ will oversee Hanwha’s existing businesses in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, and other countries. In particular, by aligning with Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030,” Hanwha plans to participate in military modernization projects and the development of the local industrial ecosystem, thereby strengthening security and economic partnerships. Based on the integrated solutions of Hanwha’s three defense companies-Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems, and Hanwha Ocean-the company aims to expand its business across the entire Middle East and North Africa region.
Sung Il, President of the Middle East and Africa Headquarters, stated, “The launch of the RHQ is a key bridgehead for Hanwha Group to strengthen cooperation with countries in the region,” adding, “We will pursue various localization strategies based on our accumulated partnerships.” Administrator Seok Jonggun commented, “The RHQ will serve as an advanced base for Korean defense companies in Saudi Arabia and the region. The government will also contribute to strengthening defense capabilities and economic development centered around this initiative.”
