Practical Legislative Training for 40 Public Officials
Enhancing Understanding of Statutes and Local Ordinance Management Skills
Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province conducted the "2025 Second Half On-Site Legislative Education Tour by the Ministry of Government Legislation" for 40 affiliated public officials at the Changnyeong County Informatization Education Center on September 3.
This customized tour education, organized by the Ministry of Government Legislation, aimed to enhance public officials' understanding of statutes and their ability to operate local ordinances. A professional instructor from the Ministry visited in person to lead the program.
The training focused on practical issues that public officials frequently encounter in their daily administrative work, such as subsidies, public property, committees, funds, delegation and entrustment, and administrative fines. The sessions addressed real-life case studies on these topics. In particular, participants shared various concerns and examples related to legislative affairs experienced in the field, which resonated strongly and received a positive response from the attendees.
In addition to theory-based lectures, the program included hands-on activities such as a "mock ordinance drafting" session, where participants practiced drafting actual ordinances based on what they learned, and training on how to use the legislative bill editor program, which is essential for drafting and editing statutes. The comprehensive curriculum covered a total of three subjects over six hours.
Public officials who participated in the training commented, "The lectures and practical exercises based on real-life cases were highly beneficial for our work," and added, "It will be of great help in handling legislative affairs in the future."
An official from Changnyeong County stated, "Through this training, we have contributed to strengthening public officials' statutory interpretation skills and ordinance drafting capabilities, thereby enhancing the professionalism and legal reliability of administrative services directly related to residents' lives." The official also emphasized, "We will continue to expand practical legislative education and do our utmost to realize fair and transparent administration by further improving the quality of legislative work."
