According to the district office, more than 100 people attended the event, including Kim Ikang, mayor of Seo-gu District, members of women's organizations, and citizen participants. The program featured a gender equality video screening, a family happiness short play, commendations for exemplary individuals, and a hands-on activity making gender equality T-shirts, providing a variety of attractions and opportunities for participation.
In particular, the family happiness short play resonated deeply with the audience by warmly depicting the process of breaking away from fixed gender roles and achieving change through respect and communication within the family.
One resident who participated in the event said, "Through the short play and hands-on activities, I was able to relate to how gender equality, which often feels difficult, can be practiced in everyday life. It was a meaningful time that made me realize that even small changes should begin at home and in the local community."
Kim Ikang, mayor of Seo-gu District, stated, "Gender equality is a fundamental value that everyone should enjoy and is the starting point for building a better society. Seo-gu will foster a culture of respect and consideration, so that men and women can grow together and create a happy community."
Meanwhile, on September 1, Seo-gu District strengthened gender sensitivity and practical competence by conducting gender impact assessment training for citizen participants and public officials.
