Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will host the 3rd Developmental Disabilities Culture and Arts Festival, 'Sae Bit Euro Eoullim,' at the Grand Theater of Gyeonggi Arts Center on September 10.
This event is a festival of harmony where individuals with developmental disabilities and those without can enjoy cultural and artistic performances together, fostering communication and exchange.
The festival will begin with performances by 'Exciting Drumbeat Nanta' and the 'Ukunuri Ensemble,' followed by the screening of support videos sent from eight international sister cities, and a joint performance by individuals with developmental disabilities and the Suwon City Ballet Company. Additionally, a variety of stages prepared by individuals with developmental disabilities will be featured, including the Goodwill Hope Choir, sand art, a fashion show, taekwondo, and choral performances.
In particular, this year's event has expanded opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities by collaborating with international sister cities and broadening the range of artistic genres, thereby highlighting their talents and increasing opportunities for participation in cultural and artistic activities.
Suwon City will also operate 21 booths, including an artificial intelligence (AI) exhibition, sports experiences, leather crafting, art, keyring making, and coffee tasting.
A Suwon City official stated, "We have prepared performances and experience booths so that individuals with developmental disabilities can freely pursue their dreams and enjoy time together," and added, "We hope for much interest and participation so that the Developmental Disabilities Culture and Arts Festival can become a platform for communication and exchange."
