Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province held the "2025 Suncheon Premium Nagan Pear Taiwan Export Commemorative Loading Ceremony" on the 3rd at the Nagan Pear Agricultural Cooperative Export Sorting Center. More than 20 people attended the ceremony, including representatives from Suncheon City, the Nagan Pear Agricultural Cooperative, and Suncheon Nonghyup.
This year's export of Suncheon Premium Nagan Pears began on September 1 and is expected to reach a total of 500 tons by November, with shipments planned to Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and other countries.
Suncheon Nagan Pears are grown in a natural environment with abundant sunlight and fertile soil, resulting in fruit that is rich in juice. To address the decline in freshness caused by global warming, Suncheon City has expanded the sorting center and strengthened its quality management infrastructure. The city is actively fostering Nagan Pears as a key export-oriented agricultural product and is promoting their excellence through exports to Southeast Asia and other regions.
A city official stated, "This loading ceremony is not just a simple export event, but a meaningful first step that demonstrates the global competitiveness and export growth potential of Suncheon's agricultural and marine products. We will continue to do our best to increase the income of local farmers and pioneer overseas markets through the export of high-quality agricultural products."
