IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced on September 3 that it has won the "Best Digital Bank in Korea" and "Best ESG Bank in Korea" awards at the "Awards for Excellence 2025" hosted by the global financial magazine Euromoney.
This recognition follows last year's awards in the fields of SME finance and inclusive finance, and this year, the bank was honored in the digital and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) categories. The bank explained that these achievements are the result of its value-based financial management philosophy.
Euromoney cited several reasons for the awards. In the digital category, the bank was recognized for its digital innovation through the adoption of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the provision of innovative corporate finance solutions like IBK BOX, and customized financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises. In the ESG category, the bank was highly evaluated for its leadership in the domestic and international ESG bond markets, support for SMEs in adopting ESG practices, and efforts to expand sustainable finance to create social value.
Kim Sungtae, President of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, stated, "We will continue to lead the creation of social value by providing easier and more convenient financial experiences through customer-centric digital innovation and by strengthening our support for SMEs in adopting ESG practices."
