Listening to Requests for Restroom Renovation and Improvement of the School Uniform Purchasing System
On September 2, Lee Geumseon, Chair of the Education Committee of the Daejeon Metropolitan Council (People Power Party, Yuseong District 4), visited Daejeon Donghwa Elementary School and Daejeon Donghwa Middle School in Gwanpyeong-dong, Yuseong District, in succession. During her visits, she held a meeting with the principals, school management committee chairs, parent association presidents, and officials from the Office of Education to listen to their opinions on current school issues.
This visit was organized to seek practical solutions to the difficulties faced in the field of education. Both schools commonly requested the improvement of outdated restrooms, while additional suggestions from parents included addressing roof leaks and improving the school uniform purchasing system at the middle school.
Chair Lee Geumseon toured the schools with parents and teachers, inspecting the restrooms firsthand. She strongly agreed on the need for facility improvements and asked the Office of Education officials to review the implementation of these projects.
In addition, she explained the progress on improving the "school uniform purchasing system" to the parents of the middle school and requested that they directly participate in relevant forums so that field opinions could be reflected in the improvement measures.
Chair Lee Geumseon stated, "It was a valuable opportunity to hear the vivid voices from the field," and added, "I will continue to visit schools and do my utmost to create a pleasant and safe educational environment that satisfies students, parents, and staff alike."
