Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province will offer a limited sale of dried chili peppers and chili powder at exceptional prices for consumers nationwide during the '2025 Cheongyang Chili Pepper and Goji Berry Festival,' which opens on September 19.
On September 3, Cheongyang County announced that during the festival, 600g of dried chili peppers will be sold for 15,000 won, and stemless dried chili peppers for 17,000 won. This is a reduction of 1,000 won compared to last year, finalized through discussions by the price determination committee, which includes the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and producer organizations.
The sale is limited to 6,000kg of dried chili peppers under the 'Chilgab Maru' brand. Products will be available in 3kg and 6kg units, and stemless chili peppers in 1.2kg units. Chili powder will be offered in both mild and spicy varieties, with sizes ranging from 500g to 3kg.
The limited sale will take place simultaneously on the official Cheongyang County online mall 'Chilgab Maru Mall' and the representative Chungnam Province shopping mall 'Nongsarang.' All customers will receive free delivery, and those who purchase 6kg of dried chili peppers on-site will receive a 10,000 won Cheongyang Love gift certificate. Customers who purchase 2kg or more of chili powder will receive a 5,000 won gift certificate.
An official from the county stated, "Offering these products at reasonable prices will reduce the burden on consumers and help promote the reputation of Cheongyang chili peppers nationwide. We will continue to enhance quality control and the value of our brand through our policies."
