Starting at 2 p.m. on September 5, the city will distribute the new emoticon set, 'Posupomi's Gimpo-ticon Part 2: How About a Festival with Posupomi in Gimpo this Autumn?', featuring the Gimpo City character Posu Pomi, to the first 25,000 people for free through its KakaoTalk channel.

Last year, Gimpo City released the first Posupomi emoticon set using the character, which was fully claimed within 11 minutes, demonstrating strong interest and engagement from citizens. The emoticons have since been recognized as an effective tool for online communication with residents.

Reflecting the positive response and high demand, the city planned this second installment to further strengthen friendly communication with citizens and expand the foundation for municipal publicity through the new emoticon set.

The newly created emoticons feature 16 frequently used expressions such as "Thank You," "Sorry," and "Leaving Work on Time." They also naturally incorporate Gimpo’s signature autumn festivals and landmarks, including the Korea Reading Festival in Gimpo, the La Venice Festival, and the Aegibong Peace Ecological Park, thereby enhancing regional promotional effects.

This emoticon set is available to new subscribers of the Gimpo City KakaoTalk channel and can be used for 30 days after download. Existing channel friends can also receive the emoticons by unsubscribing and then re-adding the channel at the distribution time.

By entering 'Gimpo City' in the KakaoTalk search bar and adding the channel, users will automatically receive the emoticons and can also stay updated on major city news and daily information from Gimpo.

A Gimpo City official stated, "These emoticons are more than just character merchandise; they are an important channel for enhancing the Gimpo City brand image and fostering organic communication with citizens. We will continue to deliver timely and friendly municipal information through a variety of content."

Meanwhile, KakaoTalk emoticons have become a leading promotional tool not only for many local governments in Gyeonggi Province but also for businesses. In June last year, Gimpo City attracted 14,000 new KakaoTalk channel friends through the launch of Posupomi’s Gimpo-ticon.
