Fusing K-pop and Technology for Global Expansion
On September 3, JYP Entertainment announced that it will embark on the creation of artificial intelligence (AI) artists in collaboration with its technology subsidiary, Blue Garage.
Through Blue Garage, JYP plans to introduce a new type of artist designed to answer the question: "Can AI become an entity that calls fans by name and truly connects with them?" In line with the growing trend among Generation Z and Generation Alpha to interact with virtual beings, the company aims to present a next-generation global artist model that merges K-pop with cutting-edge technology.
Jung Minjong, Co-CEO of Blue Garage, stated, "This is the first attempt to reinvent the essence of entertainment through AI," adding, "By combining JYP's creative and fan engagement capabilities with AI innovation, we will present a new future for global K-content."
Blue Garage is conducting an open recruitment for a total of 17 positions across three divisions: creative and fan engagement, character, and product and engineering. The positions include scenario writing, music, marketing, 3D modeling, UX design, and large language model development. Applications can be submitted via the JYP integrated recruitment website until the 30th.
Blue Garage, a technology subsidiary established by JYP, operates the global fan platform "FANS" and has expanded into community and commerce. The company is also driving new business initiatives that integrate artist intellectual property (IP)-based digital services, character and merchandise businesses, and AI technology, serving as a key hub for the global expansion of K-pop.
