Showcasing Unique Initiatives Such as the "Abolish Waste Appliance Disposal Stickers" Campaign
Fostering Community Spirit Through Resident Participation and Innovative Management
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on September 3 that it had selected Seoksa Daewoo Apartment as an exemplary management complex for 2025. The selection was made after receiving recommendations from cities and counties by the end of August, followed by a document review and on-site evaluation.
The selection of exemplary management complexes aims to enhance the residential standards of apartment residents and to promote a self-regulated and exemplary management culture.
The evaluation covered 36 items in four categories: general management, facility safety and maintenance, community revitalization, and recycling and energy saving. The process also included the implementation of best practices, and the evaluation and selection were conducted based on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s criteria.
Seoksa Daewoo Apartment fostered a sense of community in an environment that can easily become impersonal by organizing various events such as water park festivals and children's photo exhibitions. Residents also voluntarily donated to help neighbors in need, further spreading a culture of community.
In particular, the apartment complex actively participated in the 2024 "Abolish Waste Appliance Disposal Stickers" campaign, successfully eradicating illegal dumping of waste appliances and reducing the burden on residents through free collection services. As a result, it was honored as the nation's top apartment complex.
The selected exemplary management complex will receive a commendation from the governor at the end of the year and will be recommended as a candidate for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Outstanding Management Complex. The final selection is scheduled to be made in December after a document review and on-site evaluation by the selection committee.
Kim Soon-ha, Director of Architecture at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "We will continue to ensure that apartment complexes are managed and operated in an exemplary manner, enhancing residential welfare satisfaction for residents in the province and fostering a sustainable community culture where people live together."
